StarringMe is designed so the story feels magical for the child, while the parent stays in control of names, photos, story access, and deletion.

If you are comparing personalized books for kids, read how StarringMe uses names, optional photos, and parent preview. For photo-specific questions, see personalized books with name and picture. For a parent checklist, read are AI storybooks safe for kids?.

Child details used for the book

We ask for the minimum story inputs needed to make a short, age-appropriate book: a child nickname, age band, reading comfort, story idea, setting, lesson, sidekick, and anything the parent wants us to avoid.

Optional photo reference

If you choose to add a photo, it is used to create a private hero reference so the illustrated character can keep a similar hair, face-shape impression, skin tone, and outfit color. The goal is a child-inspired character, not an exact face clone.

Generated story assets

Generated covers, pages, reading links, job status, and PDF export assets are stored for the current trial so the parent can preview the book and return from the account shelf when the story is ready.

Trial and account control

The trial is parent-managed. If you sign in, saved stories can attach to your parent account. If you stay signed out, the current browser trial can still be deleted from this page.

Photo workflow

How an optional reference photo is handled

The photo feature is meant to keep the illustrated hero recognizable enough for a family story, while avoiding public sharing or exact photo-copy positioning.

  1. 1Parent chooses a photo or skips it.

Skipping the photo still lets the story use a structured hero description.

  2. 2StarringMe creates a private hero reference.

This reference guides later illustrations toward a consistent child-inspired character.

  3. 3The story is generated for parent preview.

The child should see the reader only after the parent has checked the story.

  4. 4The current trial can be deleted.

Deletion removes known StarringMe trial rows and private storage assets tied to this browser trial.

What we do not do

No public gallery, no social profile, no child account.

We do not publish trial stories into a public gallery by default.

Children do not create accounts; the parent manages story creation and access.

We do not ask for a child's full legal name, school, address, or contact details for the trial story.

We do not position the photo feature as exact identity cloning; it is for a storybook-style likeness.

AI, hosting, storage, email, and analytics providers may keep limited security or operational logs under their own retention rules. Before public launch, provider terms and deletion behavior must stay reviewed in the launch checklist.

Delete this browser's current trial

Remove current trial data

Use this when you want to clear the trial story linked to the current browser. This removes known StarringMe database rows and private storage assets for the trial, including generated pages and export files that are connected to this trial record.

This action is intentionally serious: once deleted, the trial story and its private assets are not meant to be recoverable from the app.
